DIY PUP PAW WIPES

DIY PUP PAW WIPES

Spring showers may bring lots of flowers, but they also bring lots of muddy paws into our homes. A couple of months ago my parents rescued a black lab. Since then, they have been getting back into the routine of going on long walks. I love to join in on these walks when I can, but I was quickly noticing how much mud Diesel was bringing back inside with him.

After talking with a friend who use to walk dogs for a living, she mentioned this recipe for all natural paw wipes that a few of her customers had made. I quickly made it since I had all of the ingrients at home and my parents have been loving it! It’s also so satisfying to see all of the dirt that comes off after using. I would just note you should consult your vet prior to using to make sure that it is the best option for your pet!

Pictured below is all the ingredients you need:

1 Air Tight Container

1 Roll of Paper Towels (Cut in 1/2)

Hydrogen Peroxide

Dawn Dish Soap

Lavender Essential Oil (preferrably Young Living)

Water

Coconut Oil (optional; I say this because it is just is added as a natural moisturizer, not for sanitizing purposes)

Add the water, dish soap, hydrogen peroxide and coconut oil (optional) into a large mixing bowl. Whisk all of the ingredients until well mixed.

After you have cut your paper towel roll in half, ensure that you pull out the cardboard center. Place 1/2 the paper towel roll into the air tight container and pull up on the inner most roll piece (it should pull up like store purchased wipes).

Pour your mixture over the paper towels evenly to make sure it soaks up each paper towel.

Drop 4-5 drops of Lavender Essential over the paper towels once the mixture has been well absorbed. The Lavender oil is definelty optional. I just love adding it to the mixture because it gives a nice calming effect to our pets and smells amazing. However, please note that some Essential Oils are harmful to pets, while Lavender is noted to be safe for them please check with your vets prior to use.

And here is what I used as my label on the container!
