SPRING CLOSET REFRESH
Well, it’s been a minute since I posted on the blog. I have had every intention of putting this post together but, well it’s here now! What a refreshing feeling, knowing that spring has finally sprung! I would be lying if I said I wasn’t sitting around dreaming about being outside, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin while wearing a tank top and jean shorts while sipping on an iced coffee (it truly is the little things). However, I really don’t want to miss a second of the season we currently in. Spring can be such a weird time to dress for. Your heart says sandals, your brain says tennis shoes. The sun shining should mean a tank top but the wind you over looks means you need a dang jacket. So. Many. Ups and Downs.
For me, I want my style to feel like I do, fresh and ready to be on the go. However, with HIGHLY unpredictable weather (thank you Northwest PA) it’s important to remember that it is still cool out and April showers bring May flowers. I’ve put together some of my favorite basic pieces I have found this season, to help update your closet with pieces that can easily transition into summer (and not break the bank!)
Starting out with this lovely white trench coat. If you don’t have a trench coat, you need to change that ASAP. I find trench coats to be such a classic piece. They are timeless and yet very useful. This is one of those pieces you can dress up or down, wearing in the spring and in the fall. I have found the best trenches can be found at stores like H&M and Zara, and should sizes up (unless it is already oversized).
Plain t-shrits are my jam. They go with everything and are great basics that can be worn under coats and sweatshirts, which helps prepare you for the crazy weather spring brings. You can find quality t-shirts for great prices and use them for every season. I ordered a few colors of these tees that I will be wearing from now until summer, transitioning from jeans to jean shorts.
Speaking of jeans…these high-waisted mom jeans. THESE. ARE. IT. Word on the street is skinny jeans are on the outs, whether you want to believe that is true is up to you. However, I would definitely step out of your comfort zone and pick up a pair of these. They are high-waisted but not unflattering, they are great quality and a crazy great price. I also love the color of these jeans. I am super picky about jean washes, but these are seemingly the perfect blue. They also come in a few other colors!
If you have been following along you will have seen these Mejuri earrings on the blog before, I just can’t get enough of them.
I was wandering Target a few weeks ago and found these beauties. They are a little different than something I would normally pick, but I love that they are neutral but still make a statement. They are also under $20, which you cannot beat.
This is a Monochrome outfit straight of out my dreams. I love monochrome outfits so much. Here is the link for the tank, the skirt and for the sweater. I love these pieces because you can wear them all together or break them down. For example, you can wear the tank and sweater together with jeans, just the tank with jeans, a t-shirt with the skirt, etc.
I’ve self proclaimed myself as the sweatshirt queen. I am in a sweatshirt 95.9% of the time. I have a few of these neutral sweatshirts and they are great quality for great prices. I would pair these with almost anything, leggings, jeans, trousers.
I ordered these khaki trousers about a month ago and I love them. I ordered a small and they fit perfectly, so I would say true to size. These are great because you can dress them up or down, very versatile! During the day I would pair these with a white long sleeve and white trainers, at night I would go for a black body suit and strappy black sandals. These also come in a few other colors (I ordered the mauve as well).
My all time favorite white trainers. I’ve posted these before, I will post them again. I wear them with everything and they are super comfortable. Best of both worlds!!
